The Wanderers Golf Club membership is a vibrant and warm group that is always looking for new Members and welcomes all new applications.
Members enjoy a variety of activities on a regular basis, as well as special events from time to time.

Membership Application Procedure
In order to apply for membership, the following procedure will be followed:- Application forms, for new membership, can be obtained from the club reception, the Pro Shop or from a referring member.
- Signed and completed forms can be returned to the Golf Club reception by either the applicant of the referring member.

Full Membership rights allow for play and use of the club at any time when the club is open.
Weekday Members are entitled to play golf on Tuesdays to Fridays as well as Sunday afternoons. They can also play once a month at weekends with permission from one of the following: the Captain, the Manager or a Member of the Committee at Ordinary Member rates plus 25% and subject to times being available.
A Country Member must reside at least eighty kilometers from the Wanderers Golf Club. Country Members must also be handicapped members of a recognized golf club. They have playing rights once a month midweek or at weekends subject to times being available during the midweek and at the weekend and with permission from one of the following: the Captain, the Manager or a Member of the Committee at Ordinary Member rates plus 25%. NB: a Country Member cannot be handicapped at The Wanderers Golf Club and can only play on a Thursday pm, Saturday am and pm, Sunday am and Mixed Competitions if they swipe their actual affiliation card.
Junior members playing Scratch League or in the Scratch League pool are entitled to play at weekends subject to times being available and with permission from one of the following: the Captain, the Manager or a Member of the Committee at Ordinary Member rates.
Junior Members (not in the Scratch League pool) with a handicap of less than 10 wishing to play at the weekends, subject to times being available, should give their names and contact numbers to the Golf Shop who will advise them if a time becomes available at the discretion of the Committee.
Students Members playing Scratch League, or in the Scratch League pool are entitled to play at the weekends subject to times being available and with permission from Captain / Manager / Committee at Ordinary member rates.
Students Members (not in the Scratch League pool) with a handicap of less than 10 wishing to play at the weekend, subject to times being available, should give their names & contact numbers to the Golf Shop who will advise them if a time becomes available at the discretion of the Committee.
Honorary Members shall be entitled to the privileges of the Club as may be determined by the General Manager of the Club from time to time.
All playing rights as per an Ordinary Member.
Temporary Members shall be entitled to the privileges of the Club as may be determined by the General Committee of the Club from time to time. Subscription rates for a Temporary Member will be the same as an Ordinary Member plus 10%. Green fees will be set at normal Members Rates.
- Social A members shall be entitled to the privileges of the Club and shall be allowed limited use of the golfing facilities and under such conditions as may be determined by the General Committee of the Club from time to time.
- Application for membership to this category shall at all times be subject to the rules and regulations of the constitution.

Successful applications to this class of membership shall be entitled to:
- 3.1.1. A golf handicap at The Wanderers Golf Club.
- 3.1.2. Play Tuesday to Friday, tee off between 06:30 to 08:30 at member’s green fee rate, subject to availability as determined by the General Committee.
- 3.1.3. Upgrade to any other class of membership subject to such member meeting the requirements of such other class of membership and subject to the conditions as determined by the General Committee from time to time.
- 3.2.1 Play at any other time or day UNLESS permission to do so is obtained from the General Committee and if given, the applicable green fee rate shall be set at the full visitor’s fee.
- 3.2.2 Participate in any club competitions or championships nor shall member be entitled to represent The Wanderers Golf Club in any manner whatsoever any event or competition.
- 3.2.3 Vote at any General Meeting of the club.
- The General Meeting shall be entitled to vary the use of the golfing facilities available to Social ‘A’ members as may be determined by the General Committee from time to time.
Social ‘B’ Members shall not be entitled to the golfing facilities. They could play by paying non – affiliated visitor fee unless they have current handicap at another Club – card to be swiped – when affiliated green fees would apply.
NB – a Social ‘B’ Member cannot be handicapped at The Wanderers Golf Club and can only play in Thursday pm, Saturday am & pm, Sunday am & Sunday Mixed Competitions if they have a current handicap at another Club.
Being members who reside for not less than 9 months in any one calendar year outside the Republic of South Africa and who are entitled to the rights and privileges of Ordinary or Weekday members as the case may be.
Absentee status must be confirmed to the General Committee each year. Absentee members will retain their handicaps at The Wanderers Golf Club.
NB – They can play in Thursday pm, Saturday am & pm, Sunday am & Sunday Mixed Competitions using a Wanderers Golf Club handicap.
Honorary Special Ordinary Members have the playing rights of Ordinary Members.
- Entry to Competition is compulsory on Thursday pm, Saturday am & pm, Sunday am & Sunday Mixed Competitions except where Paying in another competition e.g: Knock Out. Please note that in the case of Knock Out, players are forbidden by the Rules of Golf to enter the competition, two-club or jackpot.
- Affiliation cards must always be swiped.
- Reciprocity (members) rates will apply to member’s affiliated guests on a Thursday afternoon.
